Kalie Cedre

Associate Director of Client Strategy

How would you describe the culture at DMi?

DMi's culture is unlike anything I've experienced this far in my career. All peers are focused on building one another up while producing quality work for our clients. DMi'ers are experts of acceptance and acknowledgement. We succeed together and grow as individuals. Our positive morale softens the blow of a busy day and makes our hard work so much more impactful.

How does DMi foster connection with hybrid or fully remote work?

As a remote employee, I feel totally connected to my peers as DMi has made virtual connection a priority. My favorite way to connect with my fellow DMi'ers remotely is our company wide end of week meeting, which usually lasts less than 30 minutes but, by the end, my stomach hurts from laughing so much.

What is a typical day like in your role?

As the Associate Director of Client Strategy, my typical day consists of: meetings with my pod to align on their questions or concerns, data analysis to guide client strategy, client calls to provide strategic recommendations, tracking the goals of my pod members and our clients, and developing strategic initiatives for the OPM team to leverage for client management.

What is the work/life balance like at DMi for you?

I have three children & a Husband who I try to prioritize in all aspects of my life, so work/life balance is important to me. I do have the occasional days that require me to stay online a bit later than usual, which is the nature of my role. However, on average I am able to sign off at the end of the day, eat dinner with my family and read the kids a couple hundred bed time stories.

How does DMi's mission correlate to your overall career goals?

DMi's mission correlates to my overall career goals because of it's focus on collaborative success. None of our wins are attributed to one person. The wins are backed by a team of super driven people working together. As I work my way up the ladder at DMi, my goal is to keep myself rooted in that principle.

How authentically are you able to come to work at DMi? And please explain why?

From day one, I have been able to be my true self at DMi! The Mom jokes are endless, my team knows all of my interests, I've even shed a tear or several on a group meeting because I feel that supported by my peers at DMi. There is absolutely no judgement across the company, in part because the hiring team identifies such wonderful individuals but also because of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion training the company hosts several times a year.

What advice would you give to folks thinking about working at DMi?

Do it! Transition is hard and accepting a new role should never be taken lightly but I can wholeheartedly say that coming to DMi was the best career decision I have ever made. I feel so fortunate to be able to work with this team every day. We're smart and we're driven but more importantly, we care about others and you will care about you :)
