How does it work?
When we begin work with a new client, the first thing we do is get things up to baseline. We do this by auditing the whole site from the user perspective and making recommendations based on our experience, best practices honed over the years, and industry research from leading entities including the Nielsen group.
Then the real fun begins: working with each brand’s specific strengths, goals, and challenges to turn their Shopify site into a revenue machine, with improved conversion rates and AOV (average order value) – and, where applicable, customer retention.
We tackle this initiative on several fronts. The first is conversion rate optimization, which relies on a clear and frictionless path to purchase.
Our approach to increasing AOV centers on identifying where in the purchase journey we can provide the user with added value without compromising their experience. For some brands, this might look like supplementing the order with upsells at the end of checkout; for others, it might include related product suggestions on product pages. Regardless of the recommendations, we make sure to run tests to gauge effectiveness (and identify any potential consequences).
For brand catalogs where repeat purchases are relevant, we utilize merchandising and loyalty programs to increase retention. This initiative includes membership programs, loyalty or rewards programs, optimizing post-purchase UX, etc. (Although it’s not required for our Shopify service, DMi’s email marketing team can add tons of value at this stage for brands without optimized email strategies.)
