DMi Partners has a very inclusive and welcoming work environment. The company stands true to its core values on a day-to-day basis. As someone who manages a mostly remote team, I feel supported by leadership to build processes that make it easy for the team to stay connected daily. The core value that I feel my team embodies most, and truly represents the culture at DMi, is succeeding together. Building and executing a best-in-class email marketing strategy does not happen overnight and cannot be done independently. It requires the support of various team members to bring these projects to life. The CRM team ensures that each team member that touches the project has everything they need to put their best foot forward. We are a very motivating and supportive team, and it makes for a very comfortable work environment that makes you want to do the best work possible for your clients.
How has DMi supported you through the Covid-19 crisis?I started working at DMi in July 2020. This was the height of COVID and the remote work life. Many of us were finding balance in a new reality of juggling our personal and professional lives simultaneously. This was especially true for many of my co-workers with children. DMi was so flexible and understanding when it came to family. I felt that DMi's goal with our new reality was to allow us to find a good balance between the two. In addition, the leadership team made it a point to keep the company updated throughout the Covid-19 crisis during our end-of-week meetings. I never felt unsure or unclear of the company's expectations or stance on how they planned to support us. This made me feel good coming to work each day, knowing that I had a support system behind me if I ever needed flexibility in my personal life.
What is a typical day like in your role?Every day at DMi is different. I feel lucky to lead a team of talented email marketers that are always pushing the envelope to find new opportunities for our clients. From navigating complex journey projects with the team to kicking off new clients, there is never a dull moment at DMi. I am always finding new ways to grow and learn, which keeps me on my toes!
What is the work/life balance like at DMi for you?The work/life balance at DMi is amazing. We are a goal-oriented company that wants to do the best work possible for our clients, but we also understand that everyone leads lives outside of work. We put a huge focus on planning to ensure we can meet our commitments to our clients and align with our team structures and capabilities. DMi allows for flexibility throughout the work day to take care of personal matters as they come up. A huge example of this is every Monday, we have a tune-out hour where everyone at the company literally tunes out. It's 1 hour a week that is dedicated time back to each team member. If you want to get caught up on work, you can, or if you want to take a walk to decompress, you can. It's your dedicated hour each week to step away from work. I look forward to having it every Monday, and it's probably one of my favorite perks at DMi.
How does DMi's mission correlate to your overall career goals?I am very much a do it now and do it right kind of person. DMi truly stands for its clients and people. They want to do right by everyone by providing a great working and customer experience for all clients. This is something I value in my work life, and it's applicable to how I lead my personal life.
How authentically are you able to come to work at DMi? And please explain why?I feel that I can be my authentic self at DMi. Since starting at DMi, I've had the opportunity to build strong relationships with my co-workers that comes with a level of trust. DMi does a great job finding opportunities for icebreakers that make it seamless to be your authentic self. For example, during our team's morning huddle every Wednesday, we do a coffee chat where the team picks and discusses a topic. You can contribute to the conversation or sit back, listen, and get a good laugh before the start of the day. Another example is during our weekly team meetings; we always start the call with personal good news and a fun question that is shared at the beginning of the call. This has been a great way to get everyone to contribute, but it also allows folks to connect on similar interests. The huddle and the weekly calls have made me feel more comfortable with my team to be my authentic self each day.
What advice would you give to folks thinking about working at DMi?DMi is a great place to work with lots of opportunities. As a whole DMi truly cares for its people. If you want to work at a company that focuses on you, your growth and ensuring everyone feels like they have a safe and inclusive work environment, work at DMi!
